Sweet cherries for sweet days

Super extra super sweet cherry recipes.

We freaking love cherries and we could eat them all day every day and we are so wonderfully lucky to have a round this week from Joe’s Blues! These cherries are sweet, no-spray, and freshly ripened in Michigan. Feel like you have the discipline to not eat them straight out of the bag and actually cook with them? See below.

CHERRY COFFEE CAKE

This simple treat will keep your mornings cozy all week long. This recipe calls for a canned cherry pie filling, but we think the best thing you could do is just stew your own cherries with a bit of sugar and lemon until they cook down.

CHERRY BBQ SAUCE

CHERRY POPSICLES

Just cherry, honey, and lemon? Yep. It’s just hot enough to start crushing cherry popsicles and we can’t think of any better mix. You can also reach for any of your favorite fruits or a mix. To get that marbled look you see above, just add a dash of cream to the mold once you’ve poured your cherry mixture.

MAKE YOUR OWN luxardo cherries

A lot of sugar and some lemon juice and peel plus some cherries later equals our favorite topping for vanilla ice cream, cocktail or mocktail garnish, or, we’ll admit it, afternoon snack.

CHERRY CLAFOUTIS

This classic French dessert is super easy to make, made in a cast iron, and kind of like flan meets a Dutch baby. 30 minutes to prepare, 45 minutes to cook, impress yourself and your guests with a clafoutis!
